APRIL 14-16, 2015. 
Global Wildlife Resources will be teaching a 3-day wildlife chemical immobilization course at the Dakota Zoo in Bismarck, North Dakota. This class is one of the most extensive chemical immobilization courses in North America and includes hand-on labs with animals. It is open to state, federal, and tribal wildlife professionals, zoo caretakers, game farms, animal control officers, and college students. And this is the perfect base for visiting Yellowstone National Park.

This unique field-oriented training emphasizes professional and humane animal handling and covers practical techniques to maximize field success and human & animal safety. The course focuses on the needs of professionals to understand the skills and equipment associated with wildlife capture, physical restraint, and chemical immobilization including for captive and urban settings. The course covers in detail each aspect of drugging such as drug delivery systems and immobilizing drugs and animal processing such as radio-collaring, ear-tagging, weighing, sample collection and patient monitoring.

The course is limited to 30 participants, so register early! The 3-day course includes labs each day. On Day 3 participants will drug zoo animals with the new drug combo BAM II.) You will also recieve a course notebook and Certificate of Training. Each day is 9am-5pm. The 3-day course fee is $650 for Early Registration (by March 1), $700 General Registration, and $500 for full-time students and those who have taken GWR courses before. Places are reserved once payment is received.

The dynamic course instructor is Dr. Mark Johnson of Global Wildlife Resources, Inc. of Bozeman, Montana. Dr. Johnson, former veterinarian of Yellowstone National Park, has participated nationwide in a wide range of wildlife handling field operations. He enthusiastically teaches wildlife professionals and students internationally for universities, national parks, state and federal agencies, native nations, zoological parks, and private organizations. Terry Lincoln, Zoo Director, is a leader in drugging North American and zoo animals with BAM.
